Sgt. Maj. Adam H. Eri

 

Sergeant Major Eri enlisted into the Marine Corps in September 2003, and left for Recruit Training February 2004 at Parris Island, South Carolina 1st Battalion, Alpha Company Platoon 1033. After recruit training, he completed the Infantry Training Battalion at Camp Geiger, North Carolina. Upon completion of MOS school Private First class Eri, received orders to 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marines, Kilo Company Weapons Platoon, Machine gun section, Marine Corps Base Kaneohe Bay Hawaii.

In November 2004 Lance Corporal Eri Deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. In July 2005 Lance Corporal Eri returned and in March 2006 deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, and participated in operations across the Al-Anbar Province. LCpl Eri returned in October 2006.In September of 2007 Corporal Eri received orders to Weapons Field Training Battalion Range Company, Parris Island South Carolina, where he served as a Range Coach, Primary Marksmanship Instructor, and Combat Marksmanship Trainer.

In 2010 Sergeant Eri received orders to 2nd Battalion 3rd Marines Golf Company, Weapons Platoon, Machinegun Section leader, and  deployed to Nawa Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.  He returned in June 2011, and received PCS orders to Headquarters Marine Corp Base Hawaii.  

In 2013 Sergeant Eri executed orders to School of Infantry East, Infantry Training Battalion where he completed the instructor course and served with Alpha Company, 1st Training Platoon.  In 2014 Staff Sergeant Eri became a Platoon Commander and served in 1st, 2nd and Weapons trainng platoons. Upon completion of a class in 2015 Staff Sergeant Eri, became apart of the Weapons Instructor Group Machine gun Section.  Where he taught beginner level Machine gunners. In 2016 Staff Sergeant Eri received and executed orders to 3rd Battalion 8th Marines Kilo Company Weapons Platoon Sergeant, Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune. In 2017 Staff Sergeant Eri, participated in the Unit Deployment Program to Okinawa Japan.

In 2018 Staff Sergeant Eri attended and graduated Basic Recruiting School and received orders to the 4th Recruiting District Recruiting Station Columbus Ohio, where he served as a Canvassing Recruiter at Recruiting Sub-Station South Columbus.  In September of 2018 he was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant, and in 2019 was moved to Recruiting Substation Springfield Ohio to serve as the Staff Noncommissioned Officer In Charge.  Gunnery Sergeant Eri was the SNCOIC of the year in 2020. In 2021 Gunnery Sergeant Eri executed orders to 1st Battalion 3rd Marines Alpha Company Support Platoon Sergeant in support of IBX-30 experimental battalion soon to be 3d LCT.  Gunnery Sergeant Eri deployed on the Unit Deployment Program 1-22 and returned June of 2022. In July of 2022 he was Frocked to the rank of First Sergeant and executed order to serve as the Senior Enlisted Leader for Combat Logistics Company Alpha, Combat Logistics Battalion 3, where he successfully took Company A of the re-designated 3D Littoral Logistics Battalion forward to the Philippines, During Balikitan 23, and Kamadang 8.  

 Upon returning from the Philippines, 1stSgt received orders to 3D Battalion 11th Marines Twentynine Palms California, where he served as Headquarters Battery Senior Enlisted Leader.  1stSgt Eri was selected for the rank of Sergeant Major in 2025 and was promoted March of 2026.  SgtMaj Eri checked into Recruiting Station Baton Rouge Louisiana May 2026, where he currently serves today. 

First Sergeants Eri's personal awards include Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with one gold star in lieu of 2nd award, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement medal with 5 gold stars in lieu of 6th award, and Combat Action Ribbon with 1 gold star in lieu of 2nd award.
