Sergeant Major, Recruiting Station Orlando
Sgt. Maj. William Ferrer

Sergeant Major Ferrer is currently serving as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader, Recruiting Station Orlando, 6th
Marine Corps District in Florida.

Sergeant Major Ferrer was born in Miami, FL on September 25, 1985. During his senior year of high school he entered
the United States Marine Corps Delayed Entry Program. Five days after high school graduation, he shipped off to Parris
Island, SC for Recruit Training where he was meritoriously promoted to Private First Class. In October 2004, upon
completion of Marine Combat Training at the School of Infantry, Camp Geiger, NC he reported to Airborne School in Ft.
Benning, GA and continued on to Ft. Lee, VA for Parachute Rigger School. In April 2005, Private First Class Ferrer
reported to his first duty station at 3d Transportation Support Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, Okinawa, Japan.

In June 2006, Lance Corporal Ferrer reported to 3d Reconnaissance Battalion, 3d Marine Division, Okinawa, Japan in
preparation for Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) where he served as a Rifleman for Provisional Rifle Platoon in Fallujah,
Iraq. Upon return from deployment in May 2007, Lance Corporal Ferrer reported to Combat Logistics Regiment 3, 3rd
Marine Logistics Group, Okinawa, Japan.

In May 2008, Corporal Ferrer received orders to 2d Marine Special Operations Battalion, Marine Corps Forces Special
Operations Command (MARSOC). He served as a Parachute Rigger, Air Delivery Specialist, Jumpmaster, and Helicopter
Rope Suspension Technique Master in Headquarters and Service Company. In June 2010, Sergeant Ferrer transferred to
Special Operation Task Force 82 (SOTF-82), Combined Joint Special Operation Task Force Afghanistan (CJSOTF-A) in
support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF); where he serve as the Primary Joint Airdrop Inspector. Upon Return from
Deployment Sergeant Ferrer reported to Marine Special Operations Regiment, MARSOC where he served as the Personnel
Parachute Chief/Pathfinder/Military Free Fall Jumpmaster.

In July 2013, Staff Sergeant Ferrer reported to Recruiting Station Fort Lauderdale, 6th Marine Corps District to serve
as a Canvassing Recruiting and SNCOIC of Recruiting Sub-Station Miami, FL. In August 2016. Staff Sergeant Ferrer
reported to 2d Transportation Support Battalion (2d TSB) to serve as the Landing Support Company's Company Gunnery
Sergeant. Upon promotion to Gunnery Sergeant on December 2016, he was appointed as the Air Delivery Chief for Air
Delivery Platoon, Landing Support Company. In April 2017 Gunnery Sergeant Ferrer reported for temporary assigned duty
at Combat Logistics Battalion 6 as the Air Delivery Chief/SNCOIC Logistics Support Platoon for deployment with Combat
Logistics Detachment MorĂ³n, Logistics Combat Element, Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force Crisis Response
Africa (SPMAGTF-CR-AF). Upon return from deployment in April 2018 Gunnery Sergeant Ferrer returned to 2d TSB to
serve as the Air Delivery Chief for Air Delivery Platoon, Landing Support Company.

In June 2019, Gunnery Sergeant Ferrer reported to HQMC Casualty Section, Marine and Family Programs Division,
Quantico, VA, to serve as a Casualty Case Manager and Long Term Assistance Provider. Upon selection to First Sergeant
he received orders to serve as the Company First Sergeant for Combat Development & Systems Company, Headquarters
Battalion, Training & Education Command. In December of 2021 First Sergeant Ferrer reported to Marine Corps Security
Force Company Guantanamo Bay, Cuba where he served as the Unit Senior Enlisted Leader. In May 2024, Sergeant Major
Ferrer executed orders to his current assignment as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader for Recruiting Station Orlando.
Sergeant Major Ferrer earned a Bachelor of Science in Homeland Security and Emergency Management from Excelsior
University in May 2022 and is a graduate of the Air Force Senior NCO Academy.

Sergeant Major Ferrer's personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, five Navy and Marine Corps
Commendation Medals, two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, and two Army Achievement Medals.
