Maj. Ulysses O. Sosa

Major Sosa is a native of Southern California. He graduated from California State University Dominguez Hills with a BS in Political Science and a minor in Chicano Studies.

He commissioned in August 2011. After completing The Basic School, he graduated with honors from the Field Artillery Basic Officers Course and the Joint Forward Observes Course.

He reported to 2d Battalion, 11th Marines in March 2013 and served as Fire Direction Officer, Howitzer Platoon Commander, Target Information Officer (Task Force Al Asad), Battery Executive Officer, and Regimental Fire Support Officer. He deployed on the 31st MEU with BLT 2/5 and the SPMAGTF-CR-CC in support of OPERATION INHERENT RESOLVE.

In July 2016 he reported to The Basic School, serving as a Warfighting Instructor, Staff Platoon Commander, and the Instructor Education Program Director.

In 2019 he attended Expeditionary Warfare School (EWS) earning the distinguished honor graduate award. In June 2020 he reported to 1st Battalion, 11th Marines, serving as a Battery Commander and Assistant Fire Support Coordinator. He promoted to his current rank of Major in October 2021 and mostly recently served as the I MEF Commanding Generals Aide-de-Camp.
