MARINE CORPS RECRUIT DEPOT PARRIS ISLAND, S.C. - Pfc. Paris M. Winter, the platoon honor graduate for 4008, stands at parade rest before marching onto the parade deck at graduation here, March 14, 2014. Winter, a Fort McCoy, Fla. native, was recruited by Sgt. Trace Thomas, a recruiter from Marine Corps Recruiting Sub Station Gainesville, Recruiting Station Jacksonville. Recruit training signifies the transformation of a civilian to a United States Marine. Upon graduation, the newly-minted Marines will receive ten days of leave before attending the School of Infantry East, Camp Gieger, N.C.
