Miami-Dade Police Officer Sgt. David Dominguez speaks of his respect for Marine Lance Cpl. Colton Rusk during a dedication ceremony at Miami International Airport May 31, 2013. . Miami-Dade Police and the Transportation Security Administration memorialized Rusk, who was killed by a sniper while serving in Afghanistan as a dog handler, by naming their new canine training center in his memory. Dominguez was motivated to honor Rusk after being assigned a canine from the Department of Defense’s breeding program named after Rusk. CColton, the newest explosive detection dog at MIA, was certified during the ceremony.
