Taylor, a 17-year-old rising senior at Charlotte Catholic High School, in New York City’s Times Square in late 2012. Blake made the decision to become a Marine, but he chose to put his future on hold to focus on his best friend of nine years, who was diagnosed with stage-three testicular cancer that had already spread to his abdomen and lungs.
