Sergeant Major Walker was born in Newark, New Jersey and enlisted in the Marine Corps in November 1999. He attended Recruit Training at Marine Corps Recruit Training Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina and was meritoriously promoted to Private First Class in December 2000.
In February 2001, Private First Class Walker reported to School of Infantry East, Camp Geiger, North Carolina for Marine Combat Training. Upon graduation, he reported to Supply School, Marine Corps Combat Support Schools for the Enlisted Warehousing Basic Course where he gained the Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) of a Warehouse Clerk 3051. In April 2001, he was meritoriously promoted to Lance Corporal.
He was assigned to 3rd Transportation Support Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, Okinawa, Japan in May 2001. In June 2002 he reported to Base Property Control Division, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. In June 2003 he was meritoriously promoted to Corporal.
In June 2004, Corporal Walker reported to the Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training Marine Unit Cherry Point, North Carolina for Cryogenics Equipment Operators Course. Upon graduation, he gained the MOS of a Cryogenic Equipment Operator 6074. He was assigned to Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 11, Marine Aircraft Group 11, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in December 2004 and was promoted to Sergeant in February 2005. In January 2006 Sergeant Walker deployed to Iraq in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM (OIF). In April 2007 he reported to Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 16, Marine Aircraft Group 16, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, Marine Corps Air Station Miramar and deployed for a second tour of duty in OIF in January 2008. He was promoted to Staff Sergeant in June 2008 and reported to Recruiter School in April 2009. Staff Sergeant Walker reported to Recruiting Station Sacramento and was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant in April 2011.
In June 2012, Gunnery Sergeant Walker reported to Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 39, Marine Aircraft Group 39, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, Marine Corps Air Station Camp Pendleton. He deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM in June 2014 and served as the Maintenance Chief for Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 70.
Upon returning from OEF in 2015, Gunnery Sergeant Walker was promoted to First Sergeant and reassigned to Inspector Instructor duty, Allentown, Pennsylvania where he served as the Inspector Instructor First Sergeant. In May of 2019, he reported to 1st Transportation Support Battalion, Combat Logistics Regiment 1 where he served as the Support Company First Sergeant. In March of 2018, First Sergeant Walker attached to Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force Crisis Response Central Command to deploy with the Command Element where he served as the Headquarters First Sergeant in support of Operation INHERENT RESOLVE. In May of 2020 he assumed his present duties as the Sergeant Major for Recruiting Station Baton Rouge.
