Maj. Jacob H. Turk

Major Turk graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Arts in History and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in May 2014.

Upon completion of The Basic School and Field Artillery Officer Basic Course, he was assigned to 1st Battalion, 10th Marines where he served as the Fire Direction Officer for Battery C.  While with 1st Battalion, 10th Marines, he deployed on the Unit Deployment Program (UDP) 2-16 to Camp Hansen, Okinawa. During the deployment, he was promoted to First Lieutenant.  First Lieutenant Turk served as the Fire Direction Officer and Headquarters Platoon Commander before transitioning to the Cannons Platoon Commander in December 2016.

Following the UDP, First Lieutenant Turk became the Executive Officer for Battery C in June 2017.  He was then selected on the Commandant’s Career Level Education Board in December 2017 to attend the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS).  Captain Turk was promoted to the rank of Captain in August 2018.  Captain Turk graduated from NPS in March 2020 with a Master of Science in Management earning the additional military occupational specialty of 8852 - Defense Systems Analyst.

In May 2020, Captain Turk reported to the Operations Analysis Directorate, Combat Development and Integration (CD&I), Headquarters U.S. Marine Corps, where he served as an analyst. During this time, Captain Turk earned a Data Science Certificate from NPS and completed the United States Army Logistics University Operations Research System Analysis – Military Application Course.  In July 2021, Captain Turk was selected to serve as the Aide-de-Camp for the Assistant Deputy Commandant, CD&I.

In March 2022, Major Turk joined 1st Battalion, 11th Marines before assuming command of Battery C in June 2022.  Upon relinquishing command of Battery C in June 2023, he became the Battalion Logistics Officer.  He was promoted to Major in September 2023, and was selected to serve as Commanding Officer of Recruiting Station Charlotte, 6th Marine Corps District.  Major Turk assumed his current command on 31 May 2024.

Major Turk’s personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with one gold star in lieu of the second award, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
