Maj. Robert W. Moore

Major Moore was born in Columbia, SC and was raised in China Grove, NC. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in May 2003 and graduated Recruit Training at Parris Island, SC in Aug 2003, graduating as Honor Graduate and meritoriously promoted to Private First Class. After Marine Combat Training and Basic Landing Support School at Camp Johnson, NC, he reported to 2nd Longshoreman Platoon, 2nd Beach and Terminal Operations Company in Wilmington, NC.

From Jul to Aug 2005, Major Moore participated in a III MEF MPF exercise in Okinawa, Japan. From Feb to Sept 2006, he deployed to Al Anbar Province, Iraq in support of OIF. From Feb to Sept 2009, Major Moore deployed to Iraq and Kuwait as LS Det SNCOIC. From May to Jul 2010, he participated in exercise African Lion in Cap Draa, Morocco. From Feb to Mar 2011, Major Moore participated in exercise Key Resolve in Seoul, South Korea. He was selected for Staff Sergeant in Mar 2011 and subsequently deployed to Afghanistan in support of OEF with CLB-6.

In Dec 2011, Major Moore was selected to attend OCS and redeployed from Afghanistan to attend OCS in Jan 2012. Major Moore was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant on 31 Mar 2012. After The Basic School and Logistics Officer Course, Major Moore was assigned to MARCENT in Tampa, FL to Kuwait and Oman from Nov 2013 to Nov 2014 as the Operations Officer. From Dec 2014 to Jul 2016, he served as the OIC, MARCENT Reception Center aboard Camp Lejeune, NC.

In July 2016, Major Moore reported to 2nd TSB in Camp Lejeune, NC to serve as Company Commander for Motor Transport Company. In Jan 2018, he reported to SPMAGTF-Crisis Response-Africa Command Element as the Current OpsO and deployed to Moron Air Base, Spain from Feb to Oct 2018. From Dec 2018 to Jun 2019, he served as Company Commander for Headquarters and Service Company, 2nd TSB. From Jul 2019 to Jun 2020, he attended Expeditionary Warfare School in Quantico, VA.

In July 2020, Major Moore reported to US Army Garrison Yongsan in Seoul, South Korea for a Joint assignment with US Forces Korea / Combined Forces Command as a Combined Operations / MAGTF Planner in the CJ35 Future Operations Division, Plans Branch.  In July 2022, he reported to Marine Corps University for Command and Staff College in Quantico, VA. Major Moore assumed command of Recruiting Station Jacksonville, FL in June 2023.

Major Moore holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, a Master of Arts in Leadership Studies from Marshall University, and a Master of Military Studies in Military Operational Art and Science from Marine Corps University. Major Moore’s personal decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (gold star in lieu of fourth award), the Joint Service Achievement Medal (oak leaf cluster in lieu of second award), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (gold star in lieu of second award), and he was the recipient of the 2017 US Marine Corps Motor Transport Officer of the Year Award. Major Moore is a Navy and Marine Corps Parachutist and Black Belt 1st Degree in Marine Corps Martial Arts Program.
