Maj. Thomas G. Fischer

Major Fischer is a graduate of the University of Maryland and was commissioned through the NROTC program on 07 July 2012. He served as a Light Armored Reconnaissance platoon commander and company executive officer with 2d Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion from 2013-2016. During this time, he deployed on a Marine Expeditionary Unit with 1st Battalion, 6th Marines and 2d Battalion, 6th Marines, respectively.

From 2016-2019, Major Fischer served as a Warfighting Instructor at The Basic School. In August 2019, Major Fischer received orders to the Expeditionary Warfare School in Quantico, VA.

Following graduation from the Expeditionary Warfare School in May 2020, Major Fischer reported to 2d Battalion, 8th Marines and assumed the role of Company Commander of Echo Company. As a company commander he deployed to Okinawa, Japan. Following deployment, Major Fischer assumed the duties Operations Officer until May 2023.

Major Fischer took command of Recruiting Station Atlanta on 31 May 2023.

Major Fischer’s decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement, and the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon with two bronze stars.
