Maj. Lucas C. Culver

Major Lucas Culver attended the United Sates Naval Academy where he earned a Bachelor of Science in History. After graduation in May 2012, he was commissioned a Second Lieutenant and reported to The Basic School(TBS), at Marine Corps Base, Quantico Virginia in June 2012. After TBS, Lieutenant Culver attended Infantry Officers’ Course (IOC) at Marine Corps Base, Quantico Virginia.

Following IOC graduation in June 2013, Lieutenant Culver received orders to Easy Company, 2d Bn, 7th Mar in July 2013. There he served as Weapons Platoon Commander and deployed to Al Jaber, Kuwait in September 2014 in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. His primary duties included conduct of the Airborne TRAP mission based out of Al Jaber and other security responsibilities in support of SPMAGTF-CR-CC. Returning from this deployment in May 2015, Lieutenant Culver moved to Weapons Company Executive Officer. He served in this billet until April of 2016 when he received orders to Marine Barracks Washington (MBW), 8th and I. Prior to reporting to MBW, Lieutenant Culver augmented the Officer Candidate School Summer Cycle and taught history in the academics department until August of 2016.

After reporting to MBW, Captain Culver was assigned to one of the ceremonial companies as 2d Platoon Commander, Company B from November 2016 to October 2017. He was next made Company Commander of Company B, serving in this capacity until September 2018. His duties in the ceremonial company included performing the iconic Evening and Sunset Parades, conducting Full Honors Funerals for fallen Marines in Arlington National Cemetery, and serving as a Social Aide at the White House. Captain Culver was then made the Assistant Operations Officer for MBW where he planned and supervised both current and future operations from October 2018 to July 2019.

Following his tour at MBW Captain Culver executed orders to Expeditionary Warfare School (EWS) in Quantico, Va. He graduated EWS in May 2020 and reported to 3d Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion in MCAGCC where he took command of Headquarters and Services Company in June. In March 2021 Captain Culver assumed command of Company C, 3d Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion. Captain Culver and Company C deployed in November 2021 to Okinawa where the company was divided to support both the 4th Marine Regiment Unit Deployment Program and the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit.

After this deployment, Major Culver attended the Air Force Command and Staff College at Maxwell AFB, Alabama where he studied under the Joint All-Domain Strategist concentration.

On June 30, 2023, Major Culver took charge as the Recruiting Station Baton Rouge commanding officer in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Major Culver’s additional schools include Expeditionary Warfare School, Air Force Command & Staff, Army Cavalry Leaders’ Course, and an M.A. in Executive Leadership from Liberty University.
