GEORGIA NATIVE RECRUIT TRAINING HONOR GRADUATE FOR PLATOON 4028

MCRD PARRIS ISLAND, South Carolina --
Pfc. Sharidon R. Mafnas graduated from Marine recruit training today as the platoon honor graduate of Platoon 4028, Company O, 4th Battalion, Recruit Training Regiment, for placing first of 51 recruits.

The honor graduate award recognizes the Marine who best exemplifies the total Marine concept, which encompasses physical fitness, marksmanship and leadership traits, during recruit training.

During recruit training, Mafnas acted as platoon guide for Platoon 4028, scored 248 points out of a possible 300 points on her physical fitness test, 274 out of a possible 300 points on her combat fitness test, and was deemed an expert shooter for scoring 307 points out of a possible 350 on her marksmanship qualification.

Mafnas was recruited at Recruiting Substation Statesboro, Georgia, by Sergeant Christopher J. Osborne.
