Gunnery Sergeant Luis Sanchez III (left), Col. Jeffrey C. Smitherman (center), and Sgt. James Carlo Eco (right) take a celebratory sit on Recruiting Substation (RSS) Savannah's new couch delivered Mar. 22, 2017. The couch and victory lunch was awarded to RSS Savannah in recognition for taking the lead in the "Happy Birthday Offensive" as the top RSS and also producing the top recruiter during the offensive. In order to take the lead, recruiting substations across 6th Marine Corps District (6th MCD) had to find people who desired to be a Marine while serving in the reserves. "I thought it was a great experience to have a one-on-one with the 6th Marine Corps District commanding officer," said Sanchez. "And to also have the opportunity to have my Marines being recognized for their hard work." Sanchez is the staff noncommissioned officer-in-charge of his recruiting substation.
