Sergeant Major, Recruiting Station Baton Rouge
Sgt. Maj. Wandy O. Rodriguezabreu

Sergeant Major Wandy O. Rodriguez enlisted in the Marine Corps on January 6th, 2003 and completed recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina.  Following recruit training; Sergeant Major Rodriguez attended Marine Combat Training at Camp Geiger and then attended the Administrative Specialist School at Camp Johnson, North Carolina.  Upon completion, he was assigned the MOS 0151, Administration Clerk. 

In July 2003, Sergeant Major Rodriguez reported to Headquarters Marine Corps, Manpower and Reserve Affairs, Fitness Reports Processing Unit-32, Quantico, Virginia, where he served as an Administrative Clerk and Promotion Boards Liaison.  In October 2006, Sergeant Major Rodriguez transferred to the 1st Marine Corps District, Recruiting Station Springfield, Massachusetts where he served as an Administrative Clerk, Operations Clerk, and Color Sergeant.  In February 2010, Sergeant Major Rodriguez was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant and transferred to Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron, Marine Corps Air Station, Yuma, Arizona where he served as the Administrative Chief, Legal Chief, and Adjutant.  

In October 2012, Sergeant Major Rodriguez reported to Marine Attack Squadron-311 (VMA-311) aboard Marine Corps Air Station, Yuma, Arizona where he served as the Administrative Chief, Legal Chief, and Adjutant.  In April 2013, he deployed with VMA-311 to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.  In May 2014, Sergeant Major Rodriguez was promoted to the Rank of Gunnery Sergeant and attended the Basic Recruiting School, Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California and upon graduation reported to 6th Marine Corps District, Recruiting Station Fort Lauderdale, Florida where he served as a Canvassing Recruiter and Pool Program Specialist.  In October 2017, Sergeant Major Rodriguez reported to 4th Marine Regiment, Camp Schwab, Okinawa, Japan where he served as the Administrative Chief.  

In February 2018, he was frocked to the rank of First Sergeant and transferred to 9th Engineer Support Battalion where he served as the Company First Sergeant for Engineer Company "B" and Headquarters and Service Company.  In October 2020, Sergeant Major Rodriguez reported to 3d Supply Battalion, Okinawa, Japan where he served as the Company First Sergeant for Ammunition Company, Camp Schwab, Okinawa, Japan.  In November 2021, Sergeant Major Rodriguez reported to 8th Engineer Support Battalion, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, where he served as the Company First Sergeant for the Engineer Support Company.  In May 2023, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant Major and reported to the 6th Marine Corps District, Recruiting Station Baton Rouge, Louisiana where he currently serves as the Recruiting Station Sergeant Major.    

Sergeant Major Rodriguez' personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with four gold stars in lieu of fifth award, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with four gold stars in lieu of fifth award and the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.  Sergeant Major Rodriguez achieved a bachelor's degree on Homeland Security with the American Military University and is currently pursuing a master's degree.

6th Marine Corps District
